Discount Codes

Overview

Discount codes give customers a reduction on their booking or pass purchase price. They're useful for new-client welcome offers, seasonal promotions, referral rewards, or loyalty discounts for regulars. Clients enter the code at checkout and the discount is calculated and applied automatically.

Creating a discount code

  1. Go to Promotions > Discount codes and click Add discount code.
  2. Enter the code string. This is what clients type at checkout - for example WELCOME10 or SUMMER25. Codes are not case-sensitive.
  3. Enter a description. This is for your use only. It's not shown to clients, and is just for your use finding and managing codes.
  4. Choose the discount type - either a percentage (e.g. 10% off) or a fixed amount (e.g. £5 off).
  5. Enter the discount value. For percentage codes this is the %-off that you want to give, for fixed amounts this is the financial amount in pounds.
  6. Set the start and end date. The code will only be available for bookings within this date range. You must always supply a start date (defaults to the time the code is created), but the end date is optional.
  7. Optionally set a usage limit. Controls how many times a customer can use a code.
  8. Choose what the code applies to. You can apply it to all classes and passes, just classes, just passes, or specific classes or passes.
  9. Click "Create discount code". The code is active immediately. Share it with your clients however you like - email, social media, your website.

Ending codes

From Promotions > Discount codes, you can use the "End now" link to disable a code.

Tip: For a "first class free" offer, create a 100% discount code with a per-customer limit of 1 and restrict it to class bookings (not passes). This lets new clients try a class without paying.

Common questions

Can clients use more than one discount code on the same booking?

No. Only one discount code can be applied per transaction.

Can discount codes be used alongside passes?

Yes. The discount codes will be used first to adjust the price, and then the pass will be applied against the remaining balance.

What happens if a discount code would make the order total negative?

Fixed-amount discounts are capped at the order total - you can't discount below £0. A fixed £10 discount on a £7 booking will bring the total to £0, not -£3.
